Perhaps I should know, but is there any article or doctoral dissertation
about Robert Baird's tour in Europe in the mid-1830s to start temperance
organizations in England and the continent, and for which purpose he wrote
his history of the temperance movements in the USA (orig. in French, 1836),
except for his own 1841-memoir 'Visit to Northern Europe'?
