An AP story released on the CNN internet service today summarizes an
article in this month's Journal of American College Health. It reports
that between 1993 and 1997 the number of American college students who are
abstainers has slightly increased and the number who are binge drinkers
has decreased slightly. The number who drink to get drunk has grown
considerably: 39% in 1993 and 52% in 1997.
