Hi everyone:

Our panel at the AHA/ATHG meeting went well, and was Attended by
quite a few people. In anticipation of next year's deadline, I'd like to
try to organize a panel for the Seattle meeting on gender, drinking, and
violence. i have a couple of people in mind. Anyone else interested? We
have to move quickly, as the deadline is Feb 15.

On another front, has anyone used the Black Temperance Collection
at the New York Public Library? I looked into it while there, but the
reference librarian I spoke with told me that much of it was in storage.
Due to budget cuts, there is insufficient staff to make it accessible (get
it from the annex to the main library in a timely fashion). It appears to
be a huge and very rich collection. Any suggestions?

                                                        Scott
