Anybody know whether Scott Haine is back from Paris? He called me from there
at 2 a.m. recently, blissfully unaware that there are such things as time
zones in the US, and assuming that Florida, like California, is 9 hours
behind Paris! Fortunately I slept right through the phone message.
Scott is setting up a panel for the Kettil Bruun Society meeting in
Edinburgh this summer, and Hasso Spode faxed me from Berlin this week with a
proposal for the conference.
So is Scott back home? Today his phone appeared to have been taken over by
the fax machine, but the latter was not accepting faxes. I tried calling
him in Paris several times last month (not at 2 a.m.!) but never found him
in. In addition, I believe he lost his e-mail link, so that he will not
read this.
So Scott, where are you? Can anyone help?
Best wishes, Geoffrey Giles
