I just finished a phone conversation with a Ft. Lauderdale (Florida)
reporter named Jane Musgrave who is researching the fewness of black
DUIs (driving under the influence of alcohol) when compared with the
number of African American licensed drivers. DUI is almost entirely
a white male offense. She is interested in hearing from anybody who
has information to shed on this apparent phenomenon. Her phone
number is 954-356-4957. Her email address is <adriane08.aol.com> By
the way, the fewness of black DUIs is especially striking because
African Americans are usually overrepresented in crime statistics.
It is not as if police are reluctant to arrest a drunk driver who is
black.
