Dear AIMS Colleague,

I am asking for your help in promoting our graduate certificate
program in Interactive Media Studies -- in two ways.

(1) Could you please forward the email note below to students in your
courses, both IMS and non-IMS, or to any potential students or working
professionals you think would be interested in the graduate
certificate program? Send this to students even in your 200- and
300-level courses, so they can be thinking about this program for the
future.

(2) Could you please promote the program on your blogs, via your
Twitter accounts, on your Facebook sites, your LinkedIn profile, yard
signs, bumper stickers, cave paintings, etc., whatever social media
you use for news and announcements? We need to get the word out beyond
Miami University, and that is one way we can do that.

Any suggestions you might have for marketing/recruiting strategies
would be much appreciated, too. Thanks for your help with this!

Jim

Dear Potential AIMS Graduate Student,

The Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies, AIMS, at Miami
University offers a Graduate Certificate Program in Interactive Media
Studies. This program is designed for graduate students and working
professionals who wish to gain knowledge about and develop management
and leadership skills in designing and developing digital media for
businesses and organizations, for education, for government, or for
community organizations and nonprofits. The program emphasizes
multidisciplinary thinking, organizational problem solving, research
and inquiry, creative production and design, collaborative management,
and advanced communication skills.

Information about the graduate certificate program is available at
http://aims.muohio.edu/gradstudies/grad-certificate/. To earn the
certificate requires that you take 5 graduate courses (a minimum of 16
credit hours). The certificate is designed for completion within one
calendar year (two semesters, or two semesters + summer) -- or you can
take longer if you wish. You can choose to specialize in an available
concentration area (including social media marketing, advanced
professional communication, or digital production and design); or you
can develop your own concentration; or, if you would prefer breadth,
you can use the concentration to explore a range of options.

Special Program Features:
• Required Practicum. All students are required to take IMS 540,
Interactive Media Studies Practicum, which assures that all our
students gain experience consulting with a real client and working on
a large-scale collaborative project.

• Online and Evening Courses. The certificate program offers fully
online courses, along with one-night-per-week evening courses on the
Oxford campus, to accommodate those students who work full time and/or
who are not resident in Oxford.

• Senior Permission. Senior undergraduates at Miami are eligible to
take up to 6 credits of graduate courses under the "Senior Permission"
option. Undergraduates can get an early start on the certificate
program while still working on their undergraduate degree.

Summer 2013 Graduate Courses. The list of graduate course offerings
for the Spring 2013 term is now published -->
http://aims.muohio.edu/gradstudies/courses/. The program will be
offering 3 different graduate courses in Summer 2013, all three fully
online courses.

Application Process. To apply for admission to the graduate
certificate program, follow the instructions provided here -->
http://aims.muohio.edu/gradstudies/apply/. The deadline for
applications for the Summer 2013 term is May 1st, so there is still
plenty of time to apply!

Questions. If you have any questions at all about the graduate
certificate program or application process, contact Jim Porter, AIMS
Director of Graduate Studies, at [log in to unmask]
