Hi AIMS,

Please disseminate this among your students -- it's an opportunity for
students to volunteer in the White House Office of Science and
Technology policy, forwarded by Constance Steinkuehler, who is
currently serving as a Senior Policy Analyst in the WH OSTP. Please
forward to any student you know who may be interested in gaming or are
looking for internship opportunities that are in public policy rather
than working in a corporate environment.

This morning, USA Today had a feature on Dr. Steinkuehler's work for
the WH OSTP (fostering digital games and learning), which you can read
here, if interested:

OSTP Student Volunteer Program—Summer 2012

The Office of Science and Technology Policy is currently accepting
applications for its Summer 2012 Student Volunteer Program.  The
application deadline is February 27, 2012.  Students who are U.S.
citizens and who will be actively enrolled during the Summer 2012
semester, or anticipate returning to undergraduate or graduate
programs in Fall 2012, are welcome to apply.

More information and application instructions are available at
http://www.whitehouse.gov/ostp/about/student/.

About OSTP.  The Office of Science and Technology Policy advises the
President on the effects of science and technology on domestic and
international affairs. The office serves as a source of scientific and
technological analysis and judgment for the President with respect to
major policies, plans and programs of the Federal Government.

About the Student Volunteer Program.  Student Volunteers are accepted
for one of three annual terms (Spring, Summer, or Fall), which each
last no more than 90 days. While these positions are without
compensation, the assignments provide educational enrichment,
practical work experience, and network opportunities with other
individuals in the science and technology policy arena.
