Hola ALAS, I have a great opportunity for us to go to the Latino Issues
Conference at BGSU on Thursday, April 21 from 9am to 4pm. Here is a little
description of the conference and I am told it won't cost anything except
the lunch which I will try to get the school to pay for along with
transportation. It would be nice to get a big group to go and represent
and I was told by a good friend who helped plan the conference this year
that it is going to be a lot of fun and the lunch is going to be
excellent. Well, here is a description of the conference and a link to the
website. Let me know if you are interested by emailing me at
[log in to unmask] or see me sometime this weekend because I hope you
will all be at Relay for Life on Friday from 5 to noon Saturday and then
at our last Locura Latina Saturday night from 10pm to 2am and THEN to the
big after party at 26 and a half High St. until 5am! It is going to be a
long and fun weekend and I hope to see you all out there.

Hasta lluego,
~Leo D Martinez, Jr

The Latino Issues Conference was established in 1994. The purpose of the
conference is to promote cultural awareness and further educate the BGSU
campus and community about Latinos. It is an annual conference that is
solely conducted by undergraduate students, in conjunction with Juntos
(Latino Graduate Student Association) and the Center for Multicultural &
Academic Initiatives. This conference is comprised of workshops, seminars
and speakers regarding various issues such as the arts, politics and
education. It is the planning committee's goal for the conference to be a
reflection of how Latinos have made significant contributions to society.
