I would like to provide you information about a fabulous volunteer
opportunity with Living Water Ministries.
On Saturday, December 11, 2004, Living Water will be hosting a Christmas
Shoppe event, which provides gifts to over 200 children with the help of
over ten organizations and churches. Adults are selected based on income
and need. Parents enjoy breakfast, a play of the story of the birth of
Jesus, music and crafts. Elves help each shopper select new or
high-quality used toys, books, hats and gloves for each of their children.
Each gift is then wrapped and delivered to their home by "elves". This
project takes approximately 150 individuals and $7,500 to make the shop a
success.

Bilingual volunteers are needed for child care at the children’s center
and to assist in the choosing of gifts in the Christmas Shoppe.

This year’s Christmas Shoppe begins at 8:30am and lasts until 4:00pm.  You
can choose to sign up for the entire day or for either of the following
time slots (which include driving time):
8:00 am - 12:30 pm
11:30 am - 4:00 pm

To be eligible to participate in this event, you are required to complete
a training session at the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton at 2nd
and Ludlow Streets on either of the following dates:
Thursday, December 9, 2004 at 7:00 pm
Friday, December 10, 2004 at 1:00 pm

Transportation for this event AND for the training will be provided by
Miami’s Office of Service-Learning & Civic Leadership (Hanna House).
