Hello,

Just in case this announcement has not reached you, could you please let freshmen students know about this opportunity?

For those of you who are not aware of this NSF funded opportunity, students from under-represented groups are eligible to apply for the scholarships, which seek to increase the representation in the Biological Sciences, and to promote students in considering graduate careers in the Biological Sciences. According to NSF guidelines, the following groups are eligible: African Americans, Alaska Natives, American Indians, Hispanic Americans, Native Pacific Islanders, and persons with disabilities (Asians are not considered underrepresented in the Biological Sciences).

The deadline for the applications is October 22 (next week). Please encourage students to go to the website to download an application form
