CALL FOR LETTERS AND PHOTOS TO HONOR RAMON LAYERA'S UPCOMING RETIREMENT

 From Lisa Layera:
My earliest memories of my father are of him grading.  Later, they 
were of the snacks in his desk and of the knocks on his office door 
from students and colleagues stopping by.  Later yet, I realized it 
was this triad of his work, his students and his colleagues that gave 
him pure joy for over three decades of teaching.  My hope is to 
compile a memory book of sorts and give voice to the people who mean 
so much to my father.  I welcome and appreciate any letters, 
materials, recuerdos or photos that you may want to 
contribute.  Please email your messages or letters to me at

of Latin American Studies 127 MacMillan Hall.  Please forward this 
request to any students who worked closely with him, confidentially of course!
