Friends and colleagues,
I am writing to ask your support in helping to promote a program on the
Constitution, which takes place in observance of "Constitution Day". CD
is a federal mandate that requires that all federally funded
institutions hold a program about the Constitution on the day of the
signing of the Constitution, September 17 (or if it falls on a weekend a
week before or a week after).
Towards that end, the Center for American and World Cultures (Miami
University) is holding a program in which all attendees wiil take turns
reading a portion of the constitution. The event is planned for
September 18, 7:30 p.m. in MMH 212. It is free and open to the public.
I hope that this will be an awe inspiring experience for our students
and community; one that I anticipate will become an annual event.
If you are interested in participating or have questions, kindly e-mail
