Term Assistant Professor of English (one year,
renewable), beginning August 2005 to administer the
department's first-year composition program.  Duties
include selecting and supervisng a staff of 40
contingent faculty and TAs, organizing faculty
development and program assessment activities, and
teaching one course per semester plus a graduate
student teaching practicum.


Minimum Qualifications:  Doctorate degree,
demonstrated knowledge of composition theory, and
evidence of and commitment to effective teaching.


Preferred Qualifications:  Publication record
sufficient to qualify for graduate faculty status and
minimum of two years experience administering a
writing program.
