Bill,
It sounds fine to me.
Thanks,
Ed

Marcia and Ed:
I'll reply to both of you here. Ed, yes you did write to me. I forgot
about that. Sorry. And I will try to incorporate the KISS materials
and approach as much as I can in whatever I do for Marcia. Perhaps
her textbook will also have some useful material.
Marcia, I will do some research on your textbook to see what it has
on grammar and composition. And I'll take a look at some sixth grade
curricula to see what is ordinarily done in that grade. (I have
supervised several student teachers at the sixth grade level, but
that was some time ago.)
You're probably pretty busy right now, but when you get time you
could go over your curriculum and pick out a unit that I could adapt
for you. (I assume you organize your language arts program in units?)
Or, if you like, you could pick out one of Michigan's sixth grade
units for us to work on.
For now, let's correspond here on the list. That way, others may
throw in some helpful responses. There's much I don't know about
modern linguistics, and I have found the information provided by such
folks as Johanna and Martha to be enlightening.
Is that a plan you can work with?
Bill
