Janet,
I was most interested to read of the work you're pursuing in Washington with the
Yakama, correlating the State mandated grammar essentials (for which they will
test students) with the grammar concepts you teach.

This is just the kind of work we'd love to see in our ATEG newsletter, Syntax in
the Schools. I hope you'll consider submitting it to me, so we can publish it in
that forum.

In the meantime, would you be interested in writing up a description of some of
your own particularly successful practices with grammar and language in the
classroom?

The time for a Syntax in the Schools newsletter is upon us, and I'm looking for
articles.

Thanks!

Rebecca Wheeler
(new editor of Syntax in the Schools)
