It's not a scientific experiment, and I'd really like to know what the
test was, but The Australian is reporting "GRAMMAR and punctuation
among Year 3 students have improved since the introduction of national
tests in literacy, with last year's results also showing a rise in the
reading skills of primary school students." The story suggests that
teachers who have been teaching grammar are getting better results,
but it appears to be entirely anecdotal.
