Huddleston & Pullum's Cambridge Grammar of the English Language takes the view that most "subordinating conjunctions" are better dealt with as prepositions that take clausal complements. They also argue that many "adverbs" (e.g., before, out, aboard, downstairs, etc.) are similarly misclassified prepositions. If you are persuaded by their arguments, you might find the list of prepositions at the Simple English Wiktionary useful: <http://simple.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:Prepositions>
