John,
I brought up the latest thread on having too many subjects or areas
addressed in one class. I can't decide if I'm in favor of splitting them up
into separate classes, but something needs to be changed. I like the variety
of topics and lessons in my classes at my community college. I teach the
beginning composition class and the class on argumentative resesarch.
I think it would be fun to teach a class on spelling, actually. Imagine
teaching a class just on punctuation. There could be a lot of writing and
reading and discussion. Sentence structure and grammar would be addressed as
well as semantics. I wonder if this is ever done.
