I have been trying to learn more about doing qualitative research and
particularly reading qualitative studies of literacy acquisition by
English language learners.

Can you provide any references for qualititative studies related to the
teaching of grammar to native speakers of English (in the various senses
being used in the discussion on the value of teaching grammar)?
