I've forwarded the message to our system administrator and have asked about why it is getting through our software and whether it needs to be turned over to authorities.

I'm no expert on the legality of porn, but I did serve on a jury
that convicted a defendant in part because he took compromising pictures
of children. It's not protected by the first amendment, as other
sexually explicit material might be, because it involves the
exploitation (rape) of children, who are under age and therefore below
the age of consent. If I understand it correctly, it is against the law
to even own this material, since that lends material support to the
rapists. Unlike viagra commercials and the like, or even nubile college
girls, this may be a serious crime.
It goes without saying that this is also reprehensible morally and
spiritually to any thinking person, the most liberal and the most
conservative among us. Children deserve a special kind of protection. I
can understand why list members are worried about this coming in if they
are sharing email with their children.
Can these people be prosecuted? Are the authorities ignoring it?
