Once again, what sort of complement is it? "Manifest" is a verb in
Modern English, but it looks like an adjective here, similar to "the
answer was made clear" or "the problem was made more difficult to
solve". If it were a verb, it would be "was made to manifest"?? In any
case we are dealing here with a translation made centuries ago. Compare
all the confusion with "till death us do part".
