	I'm with you, Herb. To me, the subjunctive is alive and struggling, and I would consider "attends" in this sentence an unfortunate usage (how's that as an improvement over "error"?).

		This is what’s called an “irrealis” clause. The event hasn’t occurred yet.  For this, more formal English uses what’s left of the subjunctive, which means no –s on the verb.  However, informal English uses the –s quite widely, including in broadcast news.  So while I personally prefer no –s, very few people do that any more.  There are, however, plenty of people around who will still mark it as an error.
