The Butler County Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with the
Ohio Emergency Management Agency will be offering the FEMA “Emergency
Planning Course” in the month of July here in Butler County.
This FEMA course provides those charged with emergency planning in
their place of employment with the knowledge, skills, and ability to
develop or enhance their emergency management and disaster plans. The
course will lighlight the importance of building an integrated system
for emergency planning that uses multi-agency teams to address
mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. The Emergency Planning
Course goes beyond the preparation of written plans and stresses the
need to apply a comprehensive planning process; which includes research
and fact finding, capability assessments, risk reduction, hazard
analysis, plus political and institutional acceptance and change. The
course will emphasize the need to a develop a quality emergency plan.
Potential participants in this course will include those individuals
responsible for emergency and disaster planning in government agencies,
volunteers with public service organizations, and private sector
businesses.
The training will be held on Thursday and Friday, July 19-20, 2007
starting at 8:00 AM; at the Butler County Government Services Center
located at 315 High Street in Hamilton. More information on the course
