Good morning,

In response to some questions overnight, the list of previous winners of the Pimentel award is below. The CER award began just three years ago. The 2007 inaugural winner was Dudley Herron, and the 2008 winner was Dorothy Gabel. The 2009 winners will be announced in January. Nominations for 2010 awards are due November 1, 2009.

It should be noted that among the rules for all ACS awards (more details at the ACS website):

"An individual who has received an ACS National award may be nominated for a different ACS award if (1) the nomination is for clearly different work from the previous award. (the letter of nomination for the award must address the differences between the work performed for the previous ACS award and that which is addressed in the current nomination packet) or (2) at least five years has elapsed since the previous ACS award was received."

So, for example, whatever work was cited in awarding one of the individuals below for the Pimentel work cannot be used again to support a nomination for the CER award.
