We had "no discovered clients" problem before, and that was caused by
snmp version mismatch between switch and CAM. Maybe you want to check
that.

Subject: OOB with 2950... no discovered clients

Howdy,

Has anyone seen trouble with OOB using 2950 switches? CCA version
4.1.1 ... switch firmware 12.1(22)EA9 (which more than satisfies CCA's
OOB minimum IOS version requirement).

What's good: SNMP switch management is working just fine, and I can see
traps coming into CAM (via tcpdump) as I'd expect (both Link Up/Down and
MAC-notification)...and the CAM seems to follow up link-up traps with a
burst of GET probes to the switch.

What's bad: client's never show up in the CAM's Discovered Clients
list.... which means authentication fails, with message in event log of
this sort: "Unable to process out-of-band login request from
[00:0C:29:04:34:51 ## 10.22.1.48] cowens. Cause: connected device
00:0C:29:04:34:51 not found."

Any thoughts? Suggested next steps for troubleshooting?

Thanks much,

Charles
