As a non-appliance customer stuck on 4.1 it doesn't really apply to me anymore, but I'd like to give credit where credit is due...
Product Management should be thanked for bending to the HiEd sector wanting updates prior to the back-to-school crunch. It seems like the last few summers have had early/mid-August releases.
