This is the same thing we're seeing. It's not time consuming to reboot the
CAS, but what about when it happens at 4:00am and we're not awake to reboot
the CAS. Last night we had to reboot at 11:00pm. So far we have to reboot
one of our server's at least once a day because of this.

We have a test box in one of the dorms that has Windows XP and nothing else
installed, so at least we can monitor it instead of having to wait for the
flood of emails and calls.

Still waiting for a resolution from Cisco.

Subject: Re: Login grayed out?

Hi,
Somehow today we are seeing a few of the grayed out login. Our office is
in the different vlan than the users. The interesting thing is at least 2
had brought computers to us and they worked just fine in our office. But
when they took it back, the login is greyed out again. They all got
correct ips and can release/renew fine. Rebooted and even try to login
from Safe mode with networking still no use until we rebooted the CAS
server. I hope we don't have to reboot too often. It is just time
consuming to troubleshoot these issues when rebooting CAS will fix it
right away.

Just to answer any questions, this is what we have tried on the client
side:
1. Verify that is has an IP address assigned by our CAS
2. Reboot the computer
3. Uninstall/Reinstall the agent
4. Disabled any firewall (including XP firewall)
5. Exiting and restarting the agent

We have seen it on student computers running agent 3.5.4, 3.5.5, 3.5.6, and
3.5.7. The only way we have been able to get these computers back online is
by restarting the CAS, but restarting our CAS several times a day is not a
feasible long term solution.

Each time we've seen this, the user's firewall was blocking ccaagent.exe
