I've had a few of these machines come in as well, and finally fixed one 
about 1/2 hr ago. The user had 2 not-quite-uninstalled firewalls present 
on the machine- eTrust EZ Firewall and ZoneAlarm, as well as a fully 
installed Symantec Client Security firewall. After removing all 
remaining files and reg keys, the machine logged in fine. Now, to test 
this new discovery on the other two...
