Ryan, everyone,
Yes, there are few major items scheduled for 4.0. However, the final
cut (what's in and what's out)is being made this week. I would rather
provide an update after that cut is done so that I don't set any wrong
expectations.
Regarding the specific question about L3 OOB - prior to 4.0, if you
chose to deploy OOB, you would have to deploy the CAS in L2 proximity to
the end users. In other words, the authentication VLAN had to be
trunked to the CAS so that the CAS had visibility of the user at layer
2. With 4.0, that will no longer be a requirement. The CAS can be
deployed one or more hops away from the user making deployment more
flexible and the CASs more "centralized".
Regards,
-Rajesh.

Rajesh (or other lurkers with "inside info")
There is a NetPro discussion currently going on regarding configuration
of NAC appliance. In that discussion there was mention of an "L3 OOB"
mode in 4.0. Could you give us a sneak preview of what that means and
if there are any other huge things to be coming out in 4.0.
If not I understand.. Just piqued my interest... Thanks
