I had a notebook computer having trouble getting past the CCA Windows XP
MCE update checks (pr_XP_MCE_Hotfixes). Windows Update claimed his
computer was patched, however, Clean Access claimed a few patches were
missing.

One example:

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows
XP\SP3\KB901214\Filelist\

This registry entry was missing along with about four others. I had to
re-install each HotFix manually to correct it. The student mention that he
recently installed a fresh copy of XP MCE, and installed IE7 before
installing ANY other patches. That's likely an odd order to follow. Could
that explain it?
