Assistant Director of Infrastructure Services

The Department of Information Technology at the University of Mary Washington is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Director of Infrastructure Services. This position will assist the Director of Infrastructure Services to direct and coordinate the efforts of the Infrastructure Services department to provide a wide range of evolving networking and telecommunications support services to the campus. The Assistant Director will provide direct oversight and management to Infrastructure Services staff and serves as a member of the Information Technology management team. The activities of this position will support the Mission and Goals of Information Technology and the University.

As a minimum, a BS degree, extensive direct, and network administration experience. Experience and knowledge in the administration of enterprise-wide network and groupware solutions required. Experience managing Cisco's Clean Access system required. Experience successfully configuring Cisco Aironet wireless access points required. Knowledge and experience in managing directory services environments required. Experience working with Novell Identity Manger required. Experience in an integrated, heterogeneous networked environment is required. Knowledge and experience in the administration of backup and disaster recovery systems including Arcserve and Novanet required. Knowledge and experience with multiple networking protocols including TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, SLP, NTP, OSPF, HSRP, STP and other protocols utilized in operating an enterprise network required. Knowledge and experience with Cisco Systems Internetwork Operating System desired. Good writing skills; particularly in technical documentation, operational procedures and user help documents. Experience working in a higher education computer center or computer support organization is a plus. Customer service experience required. Must be a "self-starter" and be able to proactively identify problems (or potential problems) and propose solutions. The University technology environment is very dynamic and challenging.
