Failed check KB923789 is an issue with Adobe Flash Player. The workaround is to uninstall the flash player using Adobe flash uninstaller and reinstall the latest flash player and patches.

I am seeing the same basic error but with a different KB number. This machine installed XP with SP2 slipstreamed then immediately installed SP3 followed by windows updates. This is Not a SP2 machine with all the udpates applied then to SP3 update machine. That may be part of the equation.
