California is a big state with multitudes of universities and
community colleges. You can find almost any bus-law course
requirement you can imagine. In 1971 various statewide
representatives agreed that the basic course would focus on
contracts, plus either agency or sales. The northern schools
tended to pick agency; the southern schools leaned toward sales.
Over the decades, that agreement faded. Some schools have followed
it, while others have moved toward legal environment. Some focus
on contracts; others leave contracts out altogether. Publisher
representatives tell me that most schools in my northern area
still favor a contracts-based course. Good luck!
