An article in the current BizEd publication by AACSB includes a mention of a
new program at the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University in Falls Church. Entering EMBA students are
"equipped with an Apple iBook laptop, iPod, Griffitalk microphone and iSight
camera to allow students to meet online, record interactive lectures, and
participate in class, even when out of the area." It quotes Charles
Jacobina, executive director of Pamplin's EMBA program.

Subject: Apple Macintosh computers
Greetings ALSBers,
I am wondering if there are any Business schools (in U.S. or other
countries) -- perhaps especially in the region of Cupertino,
California, corporate HQ of Apple -- where faculty and students use
Apple Macintosh computers on a widespread basis?
Our business school faculty use Dell laptop computers mostly, and
that is the brand we encourage our students to buy for uniformity of
service/repair.
I'm aware that the vast majority of businesses and consumers use
Windows computers, but it's my understanding that some businesses in
the film and music industries (and maybe other industries also)
prefer Macs for multimedia types of work.
Thanks,
Dan Levin
