     Dan makes a good point about people being disappointed because the
     computer is not a good babysitter.  I agree.  However, I want my
     daughter to have free use of the computer whenever she is inspired.
     In keeping with that I provide lots of educational (and some game)
     software.  Having her on the net adds very little.  To the extent
     that she could benefit from the experience, I will take time to
     supervise her.  In between times, I can disable her access to the
     modem.
 
     I am not speaking against the Communications Act.  Unfortunately too
     many parents don't take the time to supervise, and they give their
     kids free access to the net.  Maybe the law has to try to protect
     kids from their parents' failings????
