This is directed at Ken Schneyer's request for information about grants, but
I send it to everyone because it may be of general interest. I have
recently received a National Science Foundation grant, so I can give you
some information about those. It is always wise to check with your "grants"
office on campus to get the specific forms, requirements, deadline information,
etc. needed. Different schools have different "indirect cost" rates which
must be written into your grant budget.

Anyway, the Division of Social, Behavioral, & Economic Research of NSF is
interested in receiving grant proposals. There is a subdivision within this
called "Law & Social Science," so if you are interested in doing something
interdisciplinary, you might want to give it a try. The officer of this
subdivision is Neal TAte, who can be reached at 703-306-1762. He can
give you more specific information about current interests of NSF. Also,
make sure to get the current NSF Grant Proposal Guide (NSF 94-2).

Let me know if anyone wants anything more specific from me! Ramona Paetzold
