Dear colleagues --

This past weekend Dan and I (and a colleague named Catherine
Colquitt who is helping with the meeting) met in Albuquerque and
started the on-the-ground part of putting together the ALSB annual
meeting in Albuquerque August 7-11. I promise you that this will be
a meeting you will not want to miss. Albuquerque is a fantastic
place. There will be a terrific program, side trips to Santa Fe, to a
pueblo, to the top of Sandia Mountain, balloon rides, great food, and
we've got lots of other ideas. The speaker at our plenary breakfast
will be the president of AACSB. The hotel, which was great to begin
with, has been significantly improved since we negotiated the very
reasonable hotel rate two years ago. This will be a meeting to bring
your best and most significant friends and family and enjoy the total
environment of the meeting. Baltimore will be a hard act to follow, but
this is going to be a terrific meeting and I could not possibly be
more pleased with the location. You chose well when you picked
Albuquerque.
