I agree. While I don't want 100 messages a day from my colleagues, I
don't think we should limit this to short official messages. There is
another service for that and if Dan put official announcements on it,
people who don't want the more casual e-mail could subscribe only to
it. I'd welcome a freer exchange of ideas. It could build community among
our otherwise far-flung colleagues.
