Subject: study abroad in London - Summer 2014

This summer I have the pleasure of teaching a study abroad course in London. The six-week course (June 15 to July 27) is titled “The Legal and Business Environment in the United Kingdom and European Union.” Students will learn about business law and business ethics in Europe and engage in a variety of site visits, including the US Embassy, Lloyd’s of London, the UK Supreme Court, and the Royal Courts of Justice. The course also includes a number of guest speakers (including the inestimable Peter Shears!) on topics such as business ethics, human rights, data privacy, and international law. There will also be opportunities to network with local company representatives. Students live right in London with easy access to public transportation and can easily travel to nearby major cities.

The course offers the combination of a business law/ethics course, taught abroad, and immersed in a major business metropolis. The course is ideal for a student who has a pre-law interest and would like to add a study abroad, international legal experience to their portfolio.

The course is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors, non-business students. Students from other universities and colleges are most welcome to apply. If you are aware of students that would benefit from such an experience, I would appreciate your sharing this course information and distributing as appropriate.

Thanks,

Robert
