To Rick, Laurie, and other course web-users,
I'm about a half step ahead of Laurie, and WILL be using a Blackboard-based
course web page for an introductory Business Law course next spring
(January). In addition, Prentice Hall, who publish the text I will be using
(Cheeseman's Essentials of BL), have teamed up w/ Blackboard to add
"content" from that text to the web page host. I will then "modify" that to
my specific use. Since I can't actually see what they have until Dec 10,
I've...bought a pig in a poke or bet on the come line (take your pick).
However, I have worked some with the Blackboard shell, and like it.
At Baltimore, one of you nice people spent an hour w/ me and the Prentice
Hall reps showing me your course web page. It was terrific. However, I
have lost your name. If you, or any of you, have some experience with
Blackboard or course web pages in general I would really appreciate visiting
with you off line. Or, we can share what we are doing w/ everyone if there
is an interest (and the FL votes are ever counted).
Thank you,
John

Subject: Re: technology in the class room
Laurie: I have been using webct to supplement my lectures and to have
students engage in discussions of current legal and/or ethical issues.
Seems to be well received by most students and is working well. In
addition it is very "user-friendly" software.
Happy to chat more about it if you are interested.
