Congratulations to both Carol and Cindy for their recognitions--both are
well-deserved.
Along the same lines, I noticed in a U Mich Law School
publication--the Quadrangle--that B. Law Prof. Robert Adler of UNC
Chapel Hill was recently confirmed as a Commissioner on the Consumer
Products Safety Commission. All sorts of honors appear to be going to
ALSB members. Well done.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me e-mail congratulations on the
Women's Justice Legal Scholar Award. My ALSB family is so wonderfully
supportive in so many ways!

I also want to add my congratulation to Cindy for her honor.

I've got some unexpected good news!

I have been notified that I will receive the Women's Justice Legal
Scholar Award winner from Missouri Lawyers' Weekly / Missouri Lawyers
Media in April. Since the statewide award was unsolicited, I am really
surprised and honored -- especially since it has always been awarded to
a law school professor previously!

Here is some information on the award:

Women's Justice Awards "recognize women across the state of Missouri who
have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and
accomplishment in improving the quality of justice and furthering the
highest ideals of the legal profession. The awards reach out to women .
. . in the bar, bench, public office, civil service, business, academia,
nonprofits . . ."

The Legal Scholar Award is "awarded to women faculty members or
administrators . . . who fulfill the above ideals through their own work
with the justice system, through their research or scholarship, or
through teaching and inspiring others."
