Yes, it must be an issue. But it is obvious that hotel rates
have gone soaring. It is hard to find an off-the-shelf rate in an
hotel ordinaire in a major U.S. city for under $150. And nice hotels
are exhorbitant.The $109 "weekend special" we used to get at the
Swissotel in Atlanta three years ago is now $140-160, and no less.
Same hotel. I think low 100s in San Diego is pretty reasonable. The
Academy stayed under $100 for a number of years. If you can keep it
under $120 for several more years you will have worked a miracle.
That is my personal take.
