Hi. Just wanted to sound a sour note regarding the early start time for San
Diego. Early sessions of workshops or paper sessions are poorly attended with
the current start time and an hour earlier will only decrease participation at
these morning sessions. Often people flying in from long distances are pretty
jet lagged or others are beat from going out the previous night with colleagues
to enjoy the local scene. I love the beach more than most, but I suggest that
the session times be from 9:00 -4:00 to accommodate those who actually want to
hear papers. Those who want to bail out early to enjoy San Diego will do that
anyways. So why not accommodate those who really want to hear papers with more
suitable time slots. Lucille Ponte, Bentley College
