Subject: AICPA/CPA Exam

     Dear Bob:

I am writing to you on behalf of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants. I was recently unable to contact you by phone. I
work with ACT, a national testing organization that is assisting the
AICPA to develop items for the Uniform CPA Examination. As you may be
aware, the AICPA is moving their examination to computer-based
delivery in 2003 and will need a large number of new items produced in
     the coming months.

We will be conducting a test question writing workshop in Dallas on
June 29-July 1. I wanted to know if you might be interested in
participating in this activity or one of the other workshops that we
will be offering around the country this summer in Denver and New
Orleans. The dates are July 13-15 in Denver and July 20-22 in New
Orleans. The AICPA will pay for your transportation, lodging, and a
per diem to cover meal expenses. There will also be an honorarium for
each test question written, either at the workshop or in a follow-up
assignment by mail. In addition, we will be conducting 2 workshops in
     early 2002.

We are looking for people who can write for any of the 4 sections of
the examination (Auditing & Attestation, Financial Accounting &
Reporting, Regulation, and Business Environment & Concepts), but we
are looking in particular for people who can write about the following
     Business Environment & Concepts topics:

     -- Business structure
     -- Economic concepts
     -- Financial management
     -- Information technology
     -- Planning & budgeting
     -- Measurement.

If you are interested in making this kind of a contribution to your
professional organization please fill out the attached form and fax it
back to (319) 341-2551. Feel free to pass this along to any others
you think may be interested. If you have any questions please call me
     at (319) 337-1087.

     Thank you,

     Rosemary Regan-Gavin
