Roxanne:

I wouldn't limit your use. I think all of us everywhere should assume
that emails are 'public' and be sensible in what we send. So, eg, when
Sally Gunz says Lee Reed is a really, really ????, she should assume
that Lee will receive this message (sorry -- as a newcomer, you won't
know why I am saying this. A number of us, including Lee and myself,
have been known to send out emails to the whole group that we intended
for more limited circulation). I guess I find it amazing that someone
would send a posting to an administrator of the writer. I would like to
think the administrator would defend the person's right to say whatever
they said but probably I am naive.

In sum: I don't believe I have seen much in the way of postings that
would be of interest to my Dean. I think we should all be smart about
what we say electronically or otherwise. And yes, the person who sent
this out is sneaky and even creepy and maybe should be, if guilty, hung
drawn and quartered. But let's not hold back here in what we say as a
result. Keep speaking up as we want to hear what you and most everyone
else has to say.
