Congratulations, Caryn! Welcome to the state of Florida, the poltical
fulcrum of the United States, and to the biggest college sports rivalry in
the universe - at least, that's what everyone here in the Swamp, and in
Tallahassee, seems to think.

All,
I send with a mixture of sadness and optimism. As you know, I love
Utah State University and have spent my career pursuing our mutual
passion for the College of Business and the opportunities that it holds.
Today, a new and exciting opportunity arose for me as I accepted the
position as the Dean of the College of Business at Florida State
University. The decision to leave Utah State University was a very
difficult one. Aggies, as you know, have always been about seizing
opportunities and this professional opportunity came at a good time for
me and my family. I do not yet know when I will officially leave the
university but it will be no later than July 1 2006 and may be earlier.
The President has assured me that he and the Provost will move
aggressively to hire a new dean who will continue to pursue our mutual
agenda.
Dean Caryn L. Beck-Dudley

Word on the street, and in the Florida press, is that Carun Beck-Dudley
is
the new dean of the business school at FSU. Great, great news.
