Hi All,
We used to have an MBA b-law course--a four credit course (on the quarter system). I also used Connie Bagley's book "Law for Business Managers." The class was popular. For reasons I don't recall it was discontinued about 6 years ago. Oh, maybe it was discontinued partly because I refused to teach at night.
Interestingly, our MBA director feels the failure to have an MBA b-law class is a real weakness in our program. We just discussed the issue a few weeks ago, and I'll be teaching that course again next year, as I understand it. (But I won't do it at night.) But really, some familiarity with b-law is surely appropriate for business managers: just read the NYT, for instance, and see what legal trouble business people get into. Sure, they call a lawyer, but by then it's often too late.
Thanks.

Subject: Help in Addressing Pending changes in Ohio U. MBA Programs
Gentlepersons:
I write regarding a question for which I urgently need a reply. The powers that be here plan to remove ALL BLAW content from all of our masters programs. There are two problems:
1) Some are of the mind that anyone can cover the law their students "need" him- or herself.
2) The last few times one of us taught in those programs, students got lower grades because we expect students to read books, and think and stuff. Anyway, I need a quick and dirty idea how many MBA programs, of various sorts, include BLAW content and of what sorts.
Thanks you in advance for your help and attention.
