For me the cost is not a problem in the sense that, because I am an
officer now, I can get my school to pay. However, it would be a major
problem if I was not in this position, particularly for Canadians with the
exchange rate issue. The Atlanta hotel was very expensive. One related
issue is the length of the conference. Every additional night adds real
cost. For many of us we do have to stay over a Sat night and that extends
the stay. I would be very interested in hearing from those who are not
attending as to whether cost is a relevant factor. When I do my invoices,
hotels, at least for the annual conferences, are the major item.
