Assistant Professor of Business Law

The University of Connecticut School of Business solicits applications for two tenure-track faculty Assistant Professor positions. An Assistant Professor of Business Law is expected to engage in scholarly research and publish in high quality journals. The faculty member is also expected to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. In addition, the faculty member is expected to perform service and outreach, including pre-law student advising, as needed and consistent with the School of Business and the University of Connecticut interests and priorities.
Minimum Qualifications: J.D. degree by the time of appointment from an accredited United States law school or equivalent foreign terminal degree; evidence that reflects the potential for excellent scholarly activity; and evidence of effective teaching of business law and/or significant experience in the practice of law in areas related to business or finance.
Preferred Qualifications: Degree in a business related field at either the master's or undergraduate level; a demonstrated record of published productivity in the field of business law; effective teaching experience at the higher or executive education level; and specialization in the field of business law as it relates to finance and securities law, or ethics, or legal aspects of entrepreneurship.
These are permanent positions starting August 23, 2012. Rank, eligibility for tenure, and compensation package will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and experience. The faculty member will be required to work at the University of Connecticut's main campus located in Storrs, and may have the opportunity for teaching in the part-time MBA and Executive MBA programs at the regional (Hartford/Waterbury/Stamford) campuses.
