This is very sad news, Bill, but thank you for sharing it. You are right: John was an intelletual guru. I will not forget his creativity, commitment. I was brand new to ALSB when I first met him (you were President--I think the conference was in Portland), but I had read some of John's work. I was blown over by how down-to-earth and giving he was--not to mention how radical and persistent his pursuit of truth and justice. A great loss to us all.

Elaine D. Ingulli
Professor of Business Law,
Richard Stockton College of NJ

Subject: Sad news today out of Amherst, MA

Long time ALSB member John Bonsignore of UMass/Amherst died today.
Maybe not a lot of folks now remember John, but he was quite a force in
the Academy some years ago, an intellectual guru, and an inspiration to
younger members.

We very deeply mourn his passing.

I expect further details will be available soon on the UMass/Amherst web site.
